Alteration: Strong Hydrothermal Alteration Of Trachyte; Silicification
Commodity: Gem turquoise. Color ranges from dark sky blue to pale blue and was generally of high quality, although some had a greenish cast. Dark to yellow limonite present in the matrix.
Deposit: Turquoise occurs As veinlets, seams, and occasional nodules in fracture zones in altered trachyte and porphyry
Development: Produced more than $5 million of turquoise prior to 1915, and it was also active in the 1930's and 1940's. Currently owned and under production by Chris Rose owner of High Desert Gems and Minerals.
